Mark Portrait Construction is a collaboration between Mark Construction Co., and Portrait Construction, Inc. Mark Construction, based in Central Florida, has almost 50 years of experience building commercial and multi-family projects. In the last 28 years, Mark Construction has completed 256 projects totaling almost $500 million. In the last four years alone, we have constructed seven apartment complexes and a new student housing project totaling almost $200 million.
Portrait Construction, Inc. based in Corona, California, was established in 2012 as an affiliate of Portrait Homes, Inc. Together they have built over 15,000 tax credit affordable and market rate multi-family apartments since 1990. Currently, Portrait Construction, Inc. has over $60 million in projects under construction.
Mark Portrait Construction has a single project bonding capacity of $80 million, and an aggregate bonding capacity of $100 million. Our largest project to date is a $35 million project with 330 rooms in Clearwater, Florida named Alexander at Countryside.
Bruce Abbey-President
Along with serving as Mark Portrait’s President, Bruce Abbey is the Vice-President of Portrait Construction, Inc. His duties include collaboration with the executive team on strategies and acquisitions, oversight of projects and client liaison. He has extensive experience as a home builder and land development specialist. From 1981 through 1992, Bruce worked for Bramalea California, Inc. of Irvine, California. As Vice-President of Operations he led and managed the construction and purchasing departments. He holds a B.S. in Building Construction from Michigan State University and is a Licensed General Building Contractor.
Todd Jorgensen-Vice-President
Todd has over forty years of experience in the construction industry. He began with, and at this time is President of, Mark Construction Co. As a certified General Contractor Todd is responsible for all statewide Florida Operations, including executive management functions, contract negotiations, construction supervision, field production and quality control. He began his career in Commercial Construction and has branched out into Multi-Family Homes. In just the last four years, Todd has constructed seven apartment complexes and a new student housing project.
Included in his other responsibilities is the review of plans, specifications, and cost estimates and inspecting work in progress for adherence to plans and specifications. Utilizing his extensive experience in the areas of design, construction scheduling and value engineering, Todd has provided cost savings to Owner’s in excess of several millions of dollars.
Commercial & Multi-Family
Todd Jorgensen has played a large part in local School Construction, and Educational Facilities throughout the State of Florida. In addition, his company has been associated with the Orlando Sanford International Airport for more than two decades. Todd oversaw the construction of the new Sanford Airport completed in 1996 and continues to work closely with the Sanford Airport Authority on numerous improvements.
